Levitating above our heads, clouds can appear menacing or fascinating. Yet their unique point of view can give us some perspective over our daily lives and connect us to something greater and higher than ourselves.

Trees endure the vagaries of nature on a daily basis with grace and equanimity. This inspired me to create these abstract forest's paintings where the metal leaf background is partially transformed by various caustic chemicals. The beautiful patina it develops through this agressive process in a ode to aging elegantly and with serenity.

Golden Dreams
golden dreams
Through the ancient medium of gold leafing, I explore the passage of time; about how it affects our environment and reflects on our own mortality. I purposely age the material I use, exposing its flaws while at the same time revealing its beauty. I try capturing an ephemeral moment in the aging process as a metaphor of time passing and our inability to stop it.
