Small Universe
Kinetic Sculpture
Details
This kinetic sculpture is inspired by the work of Alexander Calder, the American sculptor who is best known for his innovative mobiles.
Through the years I have become particularly interested in kinetic sculptures and in creating gently moving graphical structures. Mobiles' appearance is always changing. They seem to have a life of their own and I find them fascinating to look at. As the mobile moves, the metallic shapes catch the ambient light in interesting ways.
This piece is titled: “Small Universe” in reference to the stylised shapes resembling planets revolving around a sun.
This very light sculpture is easily suspended with a simple open hook installed in the ceiling.
